When Aspen Clarke saw Skylar Ashmore for the first time, her cougar screamed that this wolf would be hers.  But Aspen can't trust the mating call because she knows all too well that sometimes fate can get it wrong.  After a steamy night with Skylar, Aspen is broken-hearted to find that her worries are founded when she awakens alone and confused.  So, she runs back to Pinewood Creek and her old pride that’d always made her feel welcome, unlike her own parents.  Little does she know that she carries more with her than emotional baggage.  Now faced with motherhood alone she's decided that she doesn't need a mate.

Skylar just wanted to forget his last assignment, so like he had for the past six months after he was forced to execute yet another shifter he stopped at the little restaurant a town over from his apartment to lose himself in good food.  He never expected to lose himself in a female.  He took the beautiful Aspen to bed the moment he caught her scent, his wolf beside itself wanting to claim its mate.  But after it was over he knows he's made a mistake...because he's already mated.  So, he runs and hopes he can beg his mate for forgiveness.

Xavier had never felt a betrayal as deep as when Skylar slid into bed beside him smelling of a female, not even when his old pack had nearly beat him to death.  But soon that feeling of betrayal faded to confusion, then surprise when he realized that whatever female his mate had taken was also his mate.

Now Skylar and Xavier will hunt for their missing mate.  But little do they know, Skylar's last assignment has a loose end that's just waiting for the right moment to strike--and it's set its sights on Aspen.

Can Aspen accept the man who left her pregnant and doubting mating all over again?  Can Skylar and Xavier convince her to mate with not one, but both of them?  Will Aspen survive to forgive?

Review & Giveaway ~*~ Trust Me by Anna Wells

Synopsis ~*~
Lawyer Alaina Simmons never imagined that she would be defending her deceased father against accusations of terrorism when she agreed to protect his legacy, a group of documents he’d placed in an archival repository. FBI Lawyer Donovan Prentice insists that her father and the organization he worked for were terrorists and that crucial evidence is in the documents Alaina has sworn to protect. Now she is forced to combat the FBI and her compelling attraction to Donovan Prentice while unaware that she is also Donovan’s suspect.

Special Agent Donovan Prentice is working undercover posing as a lawyer in an attempt to gain access to the evidence he needs to convict a group of terrorists as well as determine if Alaina Simmons is working with them. Things become complicated as Donovan becomes more intent on getting his suspect in bed than putting her in jail.

When the bullets start to fly and the lies begin to unravel Alaina and Donovan begin to explore their intensely sexual relationship, but the couple will have to learn to trust each other both in and out of bed before the terrorists’ game of intrigue can end.

Warning: This book contains steamy sex scenes and amusing banter.

Excerpt ~*~
She took a deep breath before saying, “Donovan. I’m just going to face the elephant in the room. When we met this morning I obviously had no idea who you were and if I had I wouldn’t have spoken to you the way that I did. Okay?”

Donovan was a little surprised but managed to hold back a laugh. “And what way was that?” His voice held that same sensual tone that it had in the drugstore.

Okay, so wow, his voice really turned her on. She felt slightly embarrassed, but what the hell he had flirted too. “Well, I was a bit flirtatious.”

He raised a brow and grinned. “A bit?”

“Cut me some slack, you were just as bad. Admit it.” Could that knowing grin of his get any bigger? She wasn’t sure why, but he was charming the hell out of her.

“As an officer of the court, I’m taking the fifth,” he said jokingly before adding, “I think this is a conversation we should pursue further once we’ve completed our business.” He paused a brief moment and looked at her intently. “And I would like to pursue it.”

The low timber of his voice caused her skin to tingle, and she felt her face flush in reaction. The idea certainly had merits she thought as she studied the hard plains of his face. God he was hot and he was making her hotter. She exhaled trying to calm herself before saying, “Do you think we can do that? Wouldn’t it be a conflict?”

He gave her a slight smile and there seemed to be a sparkle in those blue eyes as he said, “Yeah I think we can do that, but we have business to settle first.”

She nodded in agreement, hoping the meeting went smoothly and they could get back to the more interesting conversation. Wasn’t that a professional thought?

4.5 Star Review ~*~
Trust Me by Anna Wells was a fun story to read and held just enough of all the right story elements to make me keep reading and I had trouble putting it down.

Donovan and Alaina are meeting under unusual circumstances that just might blow up in their faces later.  I loved the tension between both characters  due to chemistry as well as circumstances.  There was a lot going on as they face off on different sides of an issues, only to come together to save Alaina's life in the end.

This is the first book I've read by Anna Wells, but it will not be the last. She creates scenarios and characters that are realistic and make you feel like you are right in the thick of things with them.  Trust Me will draw you in and when you finish will spit you out wanting more.

We are super excited to have Cerys duLys visiting us today!
She is sharing the top 10 books on her TBR List....
Check it out and comment with any thoughts you may have for her ;)

This is a guest post written by Cerys du Lys, the author of the contemporary erotic romance novel, The Billionaire's Ultimatum: His Absolute Need  She is an erotic romance and erotica indie author, who is currently finishing up her Hunted by the Beast series, an erotic fairytale re-imagining of the classic Beauty and the Beast, and her medieval fantasy erotic romance series, The Monster Within, both of which will also be available as novels later this year.  You can find out more about her at her website http://CerysduLys.com/ or sign up for her weekly newsletter here http://eepurl.com/t_y7X

Hello!

I'm new to doing top ten lists, but I wanted to give it a try.  I think I have a unique perspective on some things that you all might find amusing, so I figured I'd offer that up.

So, saying that, here are the top ten books that I want to read sometime soon, with reasons for why.  Some of the reasons are... well, they're strange.  I don't have any particular order for this list, so I haven't numbered them, but I assure you there's ten!  If one of these books is your favorite book, please don't get offended if I say something weird about it.  I'm sure it's a great book, and I bet I'll love it, but the reason why I wanted to read it in the first place might be odd.

Selling Scarlett, by Ella James.

This one is weird.  Mostly, I like the idea of it.  Also, the cover is really soft and cute, but also sexy.  I like soft and cute things a lot.  I think they're sexy sometimes.  People say that's weird, but I don't care.  I think prostitution is really interesting, too.  Like... I don't know why.  It's taboo, but kind of sexy because of that?  I'm sure I wouldn't want to be a prostitute, but the idea of it is kind of entertaining.  A nice, high class prostitute, though, on like... a red silk sheeted bed, eating grapes.  I think that's what prostitutes do most of the time, just lay on red silk sheets and eat grapes.  The rest of the story sounds interesting, too, but the cover and the prostitution angle intrigued me the most.

Knight & Play (and maybe the second one, too), by Kitty French.

Alright, so I love medieval fantasy.  I like knights.  I realize this book isn't medieval fantasy or about knights, kind of.  I mean, Lucien Knight is technically a "Knight," but that's his family name.  Not quite the same.  The cover is also really interesting to me.  I don't even know what that is?  Also, I hear it's about sex toys?  I can get behind a book about sex toys, even if it's not a medieval fantasy.  I'm pretty sure medieval fantasy sex toys might be horrifying, anyways.

Beautiful Bastard, by Christina Lauren.

I literally have no reason why I want to read this book besides the fact that I find the idea of a beautiful bastard (I'm thinking an arrogant jerk?) interesting.  Is he interesting?  I need some opinions here.

Reaper's Property, by Joanna Wylde.

At first I didn't want to read this book.  It doesn't sound like something I'd like.  The main character woman sounded odd.  Horse sounded like an asshole.  The whole thing just sounded kind of uh... wrong?  Then I saw this quote someone liked on Goodreads.  Here it is:
"Gonna fuck you now."
"Sure," I whispered, dazed.  "Not sure I'm gonna be able to participate too much, think you blew a circuit or something."
I changed my mind and I would like to read this book now.

Captive in the Dark, by CJ Roberts.

I want to read this book because I seriously don't even understand it.  This is like Reaper's Property to me, but ten times worse, which makes it better?  Not better, I guess.  I just... she's kidnapped?  And the guy's mean?  I don't understand it.  Is it good?  Sexy?  I'm all about reluctance and all of that, but this book confuses me.  I think it could be great, too, though.  It's one of those things where it might be the best or the worst, and I guess I'll just have to read it to find out.

The Her Billionaire, Her Wolf series, by Aimelie Aames.

I read the first one, and I really liked it.  It's very eloquent, but also sexy.  These are more like a series of novellas as opposed to a novel, but I think that's alright.  Also, she added some French speaking lines in there, which is cute to me.  I added some French to The Billionaire's Paradigm series I wrote, which was also fun.  Basically just add some French to a book and I'll probably want to read it.

Rainwater Kisses, by Krista Lakes.

This one might be somewhat of a cop out.  I know Krista Lakes and her husband (not very personally, but I know them), and I knew she was putting out a new novel called Saltwater Kisses.  I thought it sounded neat, so I offered to read it and review it.  It was neat, and I liked it.  Then her husband told me there's a second one coming out, Rainwater Kisses, and well, I need to read it now, because Saltwater Kisses left me with some questions I need answers to.  Other people's husband are sneaky and good at dropping hints about books their wives are writing, I guess.  I honestly have no idea what the book is about yet, but the first was great so I think the second will be really good, too.

Fire Dance, by Delle Jacobs.

If that's not the most beautiful cover ever, I don't know what is.  Also, I love medieval fantasy romance books, so this is basically right up my alley.  I like other books, too, but medieval fantasy is my safeguard/comfort food kind of book, you know?  It just sounds like a nice book.  A woman who was forced to become a witch?  Also, the whole castle conspiracy thing.  This book sounds great.

Me, Cinderella?, by Aubrey Rose.

I love fairytale re-imaginings a lot.  This one isn't exactly that, but the title is interesting to me.  Also, the math parts.  There's math in a romance novel?  I think that's so neat.  I want to see how she wrote the book and if there's good comparison between the original Cinderella story or not.  I don't expect it to be that similar, but I think it'd be awesome if she snuck in some secret references, you know?

Maliciously Obedient, by Julia Kent.

I haven't read any of Julia Kent's stories before, but I've heard from a bunch of people that they're great.  I really like the story concept, too.  The whole thing sounds silly, but a bit sexy at the same time.  I like books with sequels, too, and Suspiciously Obedient just came out recently, so I'd have more to read if I liked the first.  Silly, sexy, and with a sequel?  I'm in.  Also, I'm curious about someone being Maliciously Obedient.  I kind of need to find out how that works.

And there you have it!
What books are you looking forward to reading, and why did they first catch your interest?
I'd love to know!

Cerys, Thank you so much for stopping by!  This is a great list and a few are on my TBR list as well!  But, I have to say I love your reasoning and I think I need to read Beautiful Bastard for the same reason as you ;-)

Now Let's tell these wonderful people a little about The Billionaire's Ultimatum . . .

Synopsis~
Falling in love wasn't part of Jessika's temporary job description. Nor, initially, was being asked by billionaire CEO Asher Landseer to become an egg donor and surrogate for his infertile wife. All Jessika wants to do is help, but is she setting herself up for heartbreak in the process?

Screwing up on her first day of a one-day job is the last thing Jessika Fevrier wanted to do. Worse yet, she's managed to infuriate Asher Landseer, the young, handsome, reclusive and eccentric billionaire CEO of Landseer Enterprises. His idea of work performance punishment is unorthodox to say the least, but Jessika finds herself intrigued by this singularly unaffected man nonetheless.

She was only supposed to clean Asher's office, but before she leaves for the day he has another job he'd like to offer her. Revealing that his wife is infertile, Asher asks her to consider becoming an egg donor for his family. He's always wanted children of his own, but the fates have plotted against him, it seems.

Asher's marriage is of necessity, rough and possibly loveless, but his desire for children is genuine and real. His absoluteness and certainty in himself and his surroundings, despite everything, captivates her. Jessika finds herself charmed by this dominant, enigmatic man who seems to know everything about business and nothing about love.

Behind the scenes, there's more than the fates plotting against him. Someone has it out for Landseer Enterprises, and they're going to do everything within their power to cause Asher's downfall. Between dealing with Asher's conditions and requirements, the cruel gaze of his spiteful wife, and corporate sabotage, Jessika finds herself lost in a world completely different from the one she's used to.

Can she rediscover herself and come to terms with her impossible feelings for a man she can't have? Or in her attempts to satisfy His Absolute Need will she inadvertently become the catalyst that leads to his (and her) ruin?

Dominant, sexy, and powerful. This tantalizing story of love, lust, intrigue and suspense will bind you, entwine you, and thrill you until the very end.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Excerpt ~
And then he asked me, "I know this is sudden, but would you consider becoming an egg donor for me and my wife? I'll need to discuss it with her first, but I believe she'll accept the idea. You'll need to carry the child, too, but I'll make certain you're comfortable. I can arrange for you to have suitable living quarters in my home for the duration of your pregnancy."

"There's no need to donate," I blurted out. "We can just have sex..." I realized what I'd said before I finished, and the words hung there, awkward.

He stared at me for a brief moment, stared into me, and then he laughed again. Moving his hands away from my hips, he stepped away and walked to his office door.

"I..." I said, trying to think of something to say. Something witty, or sexy, or funny, or intelligent, but I couldn't manage any of those.

"Are you busy tomorrow?" he asked. "Let's arrange a lunch date. I'll let you know what Beatrice thinks, and you can let me know if you'll agree, too. Consider your answer ample repayment for the book, whether you agree or not. Those are my conditions. I won't accept anything else."

And, he left.

Author Bio~
Cerys has charted on numerous best sellers and hot new release lists internationally with multiple books.

She lives in the Greater Boston area in a small town in New Hampshire. She spends her days writing, reading, learning, and working. And maybe sometimes she flirts with the mailman. Some of her most favorite activities involve understanding and learning about emotions and relationships.

She adores pondering sexuality and sensualness. Most of her writing delves into this in some way, exploring reactions and relationships between different people. While she enjoys writing erotica and erotic romance, her goal is to also keep a certain literary appeal to the writing instead of something purely pornographic. Every story she writes has a delightful plot along with the more devious and delicious scenes we all want to read.

She prefers romance settings, with the occasional monster or fairytale. Her secret kinks include reluctance, interesting paranormal creatures, romance(even with monsters), and fun. She loves writing about all of these things, though very strongly acknowledges that fantasies are fiction and nothing more.

Giveaway & Blitz ~*~ The Domino Effect by Jill Elaine Hughes

The Domino Effect

Jill Elaine Hughes

New Adult Erotic BDSM Thriller
Date Publsihed: 3/27/13

A New Adult erotic BDSM thriller. Set in Cleveland, Ohio and the Ukraine, DOMINO is the story of a young, shy college girl's sexual awakening through art and bondage. An American version of THE STORY OF O, with elements of classic international thrillers, DOMINO can appeal to the classic erotica reader as well as New Adult fans.

Plot Summary ~*~
21-year-old college student and aspiring journalist Nancy Delaney’s nose for news smells a hot story idea when it comes to international playboy and artist Peter Rostovich. But as she works to get her story, she soon becomes intimately entangled with the mysterious Rostovich, who finds her irresistible. He becomes Nancy’s ticket to sexual awakening, and she soon discovers she has an appetite for bondage, too.

And there’s far more to Rostovich than just his art — he’s involved in a strange, violent criminal underworld that kidnaps Nancy and spirits her halfway around the world, where she’s held prisoner and made to serve as private Dominant-for-hire somewhere in the former Soviet Union. Will the sexual powers Rostovich helped awaken in her be Nancy’s only hope for escape?

Excerpt ~*~

I paused at the door before entering the gallery. The storefront had a large window hung with white curtains and posters that proclaimed “OPENING TODAY: Peter Rostovich.” The posters had old-fashioned black block letters on a white background, and gave nothing away about the art that might be inside. Typical gallery protocol, of course. The point was to get you to go inside, and preferably to spend money on the art. Between the couple of press gigs I’d already done and hearing about the openings Hannah had covered over the years I knew the ropes, at least when it came to how they handled publicity. Actually understanding the art was a different story . . . .

But this exhibit’s sensual art---if you could call it that---held my attention. As the exhibit progressed, so did the bondage levels. By the middle of the exhibit---the gallery was one long series of adjoining rooms arranged in a straight line---the thread, neckties and yarn had progressed to things like leather straps, ropes, and plastic cable ties---along with a few full-on money shots of models’ genitalia. Nothing in-your-face or super-crazy, like what you’d see on the pages of Penthouse, but plenty of exposed cocks and well-trimmed lady parts. Still, it wasn’t the money shots that troubled me as much as the plastic cable ties.

Plastic cable ties? What did something like that really have to do with sex, anyway? It seemed like an odd choice. They evoked images of Home Depot, not the bedroom. The photos featuring them were especially strange given the sharp contrast, and it seemed the artist had made a special point to use them on the darker-skinned nudes to make them all the more prominent.  There was even a pile of them set out against a black velvet cloth on a whitewashed pedestal, alongside a hand-lettered sign that said “PLEASE TAKE ONE.”

I did, fingering it absently between my fingertips while I studied a black-and-white silver nitrate print of a model’s well-manicured hands superimposed on what I supposed was her naked thighs, her wrists tightly bound together with a set of thin white cable ties. The plastic straps left deep indentations in her skin, made all the more prominent by the photographer’s use of harsh lighting and stark composition. From a distance the photograph was more abstract, and reminded me almost of a Georgia O’Keefe print, but up close the sheer sensuality was unmistakable.

“Put it on,” said a raspy male voice just behind me. “Tie it tight. I can help you if you like.” Underneath the scratchy, breathy overtone the voice was a startlingly deep, with the slightest hint of an accent, but I couldn’t quite place what kind.

I spun around. Standing just to my left was a tall, slender man with an angular jaw and broad shoulders. He had a slight stubble of beard, along with reddish-brown hair and arresting gray eyes that reminded me of dry ice. He wore dark blue slacks and a lighter blue oxford shirt with the collar open, no tie. The clothes were simple, but I could tell from their cut and the quality of the fabric that they were very expensive. His shoes were sleek, black, and European looking with square toes, and he wore a silver Movado watch with multiple dials and matching silver cufflinks. Even his scent seemed luxurious---a hint of bay rum with undertones of sandalwood and jasmine.

“Here, let me,” he said, taking the cable tie from my hand. And then, even before I knew what was happening, with a few swift movements the cable tie was fastened tight around both my wrists, its slick, cold surface digging hard into my skin.

My press kit and purse crashed to the floor. The room began to spin, and dark clouds crept into my field of vision. Everything went blank.
