Review:
While part of the Siren Cover series, this is easily read as a stand alone novel.

A bit of romance, a bit of suspense, and even a bit of misdirection all add up to a great story that keeps you turning each and every page.

As soon as he has brought the children to safety, Espinosa arranges an urgent meeting.

Charles, Abner, Jack, Dennis, Harry and the rest of the crew gather at BOLO headquarters to hear a shocking story that confirms their worst suspicions. Many more children are still in danger. But in order to protect and avenge the victims, the team must use more cunning than ever before. With so many vulnerable young lives at stake, one mistake would be too many . . .

Review:
It's comforting to sit down and revisit old friends that I've found within the Sisterhood/Brotherhood series of books. Truth or Dare is a book I was excited to sit down and read and while it didn't seem to have some of the same oomph as others, it didn't disappoint.

I do highly recommend reading the previous books in the series before jumping in.  It can be read as a standalone, but there are so many connections that have happened in the early Sisterhood books that it is probably helpful.

Review ~ The Irredeemable Billionaire by Lexxie Couper

The rules have never applied to film director Sebastian Hart. He’s always done what he wants, when he wants. But after one too many wild nights, Sebastian finds himself performing community service in the unlikely role of big brother to a ten-year-old boy in need of a father figure. It seems like fate is playing with him when the boy’s mother turns out to be the girl he grew up next door to, the one person he’s never been able to win over with his smile or charm.
After the death of her husband, Grace Wilder has her hands full working as a paramedic and being both mother and father to their son. The last thing she needs is for the bane of her teenage existence to show up, or for her son to contract a case of hero worship. Even worse is the fact that the boy who once made her life miserable has turned into a man who has the power to destroy her with his devastating smile and sexy eyes.
Each book in the The Muse series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.
The Stubborn Billionaire
The Mistaken Billionaire
The Irredeemable Billionaire

Review:
A fun second chance romance with a lot of passion across the spectrum.  A cute kid and paparazzi galore ;) You'll laugh and smile and maybe even fan yourself a little.

Review ~ Dark in Death by JD Robb

It was a stab in the dark.

On a chilly February night, during a screening of Psycho in midtown, someone sunk an ice pick into the back of Chanel Rylan’s neck, then disappeared quietly into the crowds of drunks and tourists in Times Square. To Chanel’s best friend, who had just slipped out of the theater for a moment to take a call, it felt as unreal as the ancient black-and-white movie up on the screen. But Chanel’s blood ran red, and her death was anything but fictional.

Then, as Eve Dallas puzzles over a homicide that seems carefully planned and yet oddly personal, she receives a tip from an unexpected source: an author of police thrillers who recognizes the crime—from the pages of her own book. Dallas doesn’t think it’s coincidence, since a recent strangulation of a sex worker resembles a scene from her writing as well. Cops look for patterns of behavior: similar weapons, similar MOs. But this killer seems to find inspiration in someone else’s imagination, and if the theory holds, this may be only the second of a long-running series.

The good news is that Eve and her billionaire husband Roarke have an excuse to curl up in front of the fireplace with their cat, Galahad, reading mystery stories for research. The bad news is that time is running out before the next victim plays an unwitting role in a murderer’s deranged private drama—and only Eve can put a stop to a creative impulse gone horribly, destructively wrong.

Review:
Another enjoyable read.  I love this series so much.  I missed a few of the usually cast of characters and wondered about them...but overall a great story with it's depth and attitude! I don't think you can go wrong picking any of these up.

New Release ~*~ The Body Counter by Anne Frasier

Months after discovering the mastermind behind her own kidnapping, Detective Jude Fontaine is dealing with the past the only way she knows how: by returning to every dark corner of it. But it’s a new, escalating series of mass slayings that has become her latest obsession at Homicide.
At first, Jude and her partner, Detective Uriah Ashby, can see no pattern to the seemingly random methods, the crime scenes, or the victims—until they’re approached by a brilliantly compulsive math professor. He believes that the madman’s next move is not incalculable; in fact, it’s all part of a sequential and ingenious numerical riddle. His theory is adding up. The body count is rising.
But when the latest victim is found in Jude’s apartment, the puzzle comes with a personal twist that’s going to test the breaking point of her already-fragile state of mind. For all she knows, her number may be up.

Review:
I've really been enjoying this series and The Body Counter doesn't disappoint.  Jude is a unique character that is strong yet weak, emotional without being outwardly emotional, and overall complex.

I highly recommend reading the first books before delving into this one just to get a grip on Jude and who she is and why she's that way otherwise, you might not like her and it may distract from the story.  I can't wait to see what's next.

Review:
The Kill Chain jumps right in with action and suspense.  Jamie is a great character and you'll want to read the other books either before or after reading this one :)

The plot is tight and compact making it a quick read the tis easy to follow, but there are a few twists and turns that will keep you guessing.

Review:
Gia & Elle are a fun pair...while there is nothing really surprising in the storyline.  It is a fun story with a couple of surfers who need to balance love and competition.

Review:

This first book in a new series from Stacey Kennedy is both sweet and sexy.  It's a cute story with some fun elements.  The characters are good the drama is relatively unique...

Overall, while I've loved stacey's books for years, this felt a little superficial as a story.  Not a lot of depth, but still an enjoyable read.

Gone to Dust by Liliana Hart

The Gravediggers aren’t exactly what they seem. They’re the most elite of the world’s fighting forces—and all they have in common is that they’ve been betrayed by the countries they’ve died for. Because they are dead. To their country, their military, and their families.

Sometimes the dead do rise....

Miller Darling is one of the most popular romance novelists of her time. Not bad for a woman who doesn’t believe in romance. She’s as logical as they come, and she doesn’t believe in happily-ever-afters. What she does believe in is family, so when her brother disappears, she doesn’t think twice about packing her bag and her laptop and heading out to find him.

Elias Cole lived and breathed the life of a Navy SEAL. Now he’s “dead” and his hero’s honor tarnished. The only thing keeping him sane are the men who are like him—The Gravediggers—and the woman who makes his head spin. He’s never met anyone like Miller Darling. Her smart mouth and quick wit keep him on his toes, and damned if he doesn’t find that appealing.

When Miller receives a package from the brother who abandoned her asking for help, it’s clear she’s in over her head with the mess he’s gotten himself into. She needs a professional, and Elias is just the man for the job. Only her brother is a former SEAL—the man who left his team to die—and Elias is more interested in vengeance than saving his life.

Review:
This one sat on my Kindle for much too long.  I don't know why.  The series is fun and sexy and Gone to Dust didn't disappoint. Action filled with only a couple of twists but the chemistry between the characters keep you turning the pages.

Death In Vermilion (Death In series Book 1) by Barbara Elle

A psychological mystery about obsession and art...
Artist Leila Goodfriend is laying down the bones of a painting. When she’s interrupted by Iris, the noisy, unlikeable artist in the studio upstairs, Leila is distracted and annoyed.
When Leila discovers the racket was actually Iris' dead body hitting the floor, she becomes obsessed: Who murdered Iris?
The other Red Barn Cooperative artists—competitive, jealous and hypocritical—are prime suspects. They all hated Iris. “An artist owes his life to his art,” Iris said.
Iris was good for a laugh.  But no one is laughing now.
In this gripping mystery, new author Barbara Elle paints a clever, twisted picture of women and sisters, whose lives are entwined by a brutal murder.
Alibis fall apart. Plot twists multiply. And Leila comes to a dangerous conclusion.
