Reviews ~

I am grouping the three of these together if you have not started the series, please see my review of Book 1 - Temptation HERE. . . This may contain spoilers if you haven't read that one yet ;) Otherwise, I'll do my best to keep it spoiler free!

I really don't know what to say about all of these other than to read them. The writing is great (yes you'll find errors, but they are easy to overlook), the plot is detailed and intriguing, the characters are lovable, realistic and could be your best friend. K.M. Golland gives us everything with Bryce and Alexis. Their meeting in Temptation, their betrayal and destruction in Satisfaction, death and guilt in Fulfillment and then in Attainment we get Bryce's point of view of their HEA.

All four books are sizzling hot but while their passion is a part of them, it's almost a secondary piece of the story because they have to much to overcome and they work through some pretty daunting issues of their own creation and from outside forces.

Personally I couldn't ask for more than I got out of all of these books. I will admit that I could have done without Attainment. This story is shorter than the others and while it gives us a little more insight into Bryce, I didn't feel it was a necessary addition. But it was nice to keep reading about him and Alexis because I didn't want to let them go. Reading all four books straight through definitely left me with a book hangover and craving more. I can't wait for Carly & Derek's book to come out. This is an author to put on your radar ~ she is going to be around for awhile!

(I would give 10 inches to Satisfaction & Fulfillment and 8 inches to Attainment)

“Have you ever been swimming here?” I asked moving my head to watch his reaction as I brought my feet up out of the water and folded them beside me.

“Yeah, most summers when I came here. We all used to use it as a way to cool off or just have some fun in between training.”

“How about skinny dipping?” I asked my grin growing due to the thoughts running through my head.

“Why? You want to try it?” he challenged.

“Only if you go first,” I laughed but stopped instantly when he removed his shirt and tossed it behind us. My eyes widened in surprise and I started to regret my words. “You’re not being serious are you?” I stuttered as he pulled off his shoes, throwing them over to where his shirt was crumpled.

“You can’t chicken out now Rea. It was your idea,” he said smiling as he removed each sock, teasing me as they ended up with the rest of his discarded garments.

I just stared at him, my lips moving but not making a sound as I tried to find an excuse.

He laughed at me. “Relax Rea, I’m just teasing you. Well unless you’ve changed your mind. In that case I’m being deadly serious.” He had a cheeky grin on his face as he spoke and I pushed him hard, toppling him into the water below.

There was a lot of splashing but Kai surfaced finally, taking a deep breath as he flicked the hair out of his eyes. I was clutching my stomach in fits of laughter as I bent over. The shock on his face was priceless.

“Oh you are so dead Rea, so, so dead,” he said, his voice ragged as the cold water and shock affected his half naked body. I just continued to laugh as he floated in front of me, his head bobbing up and down in a comical way.

About the Author

Mia Hoddell lives in the UK with her family and two cats. She spends most of her time writing or reading and loves anything paranormal. Mia always had a love of writing but never reading. She was more interested in sports and hated sitting still - despite getting three poems published before the age of sixteen. Finally though, she found some novels that captured her interest and developed a love of reading which is now one of her favourite hobbies.

Mia began with poems before moving on to short stories. Although she enjoyed this, Mia found she had too much to tell with too little space, so later on she created her first series 'The Wanderer Trilogy' and from there other ideas have emerged. She nodded, but then she dropped her gaze and just stood there motionless. Ray held his breath and watched a storm of expressions cross her lovely face. Things were not looking very promising. Suddenly she turned back to Cal.

Cal circled around them and took his place.

“Up closer,” she prompted. “Now take hold of my upper arms.” She let out a gasp when his fingers touched her arms. She glanced over her shoulder toward him. “Tighter. So I can’t—escape.”

Cal’s hands firmly banded her upper arms and pulled back so that her breasts made saucy points against the fabric of the shirt. Ray licked his lips as Amber gave another broken moan and closed her eyes.

“Oh God,” she gasped. “Ray. Please. Touch me. Everywhere.”

Review ~

Amber's Fantasy is the first book I've read by Pepper Anthony but I don' think it will be my last. Ms. Anthony creates a world that is relatable and realistic to the reader. The characters have flaws and quirks that make you feel like you just might meet them on the street one day.

Amber has fantasies and when Ray accidentally finds out this fantasies he is determined to buck company policy and make Amber's dreams come true. While Amber is hesitant for a number of reasons, she has a chance that most women would be excited to experience at least once.

While I found the relationship a little bit awkward and clumsy, it was realistic. It made me chuckle thinking about how weird it would be to be with two men, who were related and had a bond. While attracted to them, it would just feel weird and Amber's Fantasy expresses the joy, passion and awkwardness of embarking on attempting a fantasy that is not 'normal'.

Author Info

Like most writers, I've worn quite a collection of hats over the years ~ voice actor, artist, bookkeeper, retail sales ~ but I've always wanted to be a writer. My biggest dream was to see my name on a book cover. Now, with the advent of e-publishing, the covers may be virtual, but the thrill of seeing my name on them is real. I am so humbled by the idea that my stories might draw in a reader and provide her an hour or two of entertainment.

I've been married to my best friend Tom for thirty years. Together we've raised two amazing sons, and recently welcomed our first grand daughter, Leona Mae. Most days you can find me at our family's computer repair shop in a small town outside Portland, Oregon. At night I go home to my rambling fixer-upper in the woods and toil at my writing, assisted by a small menagerie of furry assistants.

I pulled my hand out with a wet “plop” sound and a grunt from Lia. She had wet my whole forearm. She’s one of those women who squirt, like the ones in porn films. I almost lost it right there. I actually gagged for a second, barely swallowed it down. I kinda have this obsessive-compulsive thing about cleanliness, and blood is definitely unclean in my book. Blood borne pathogens. Diseases of the blood. Hospitals treat it like a damn biohazard.

Lia snickered at my gross-out reaction, like it was all some joke. But she couldn’t hide the fact she wanted more. The freak actually thought she was a vampire.

Then she got really weird. She stared intensely without blinking. I sensed her trying to somehow take control of me with her creepy stare. The chick was odd, a little too much for my tastes. The sex was fabulous, but I couldn’t deal with the blood thing. Just straight up sick. I may be an escort from a third world country, but I do have standards.

She kept staring at me, had been staring at me for some time. Then she spoke in a commanding monotone, “Tell me your name.”

The sad truth is I didn’t really want her to be a stranger. As odd as it sounds, I wanted her to come back, and not for the generous tip. I wanted more of those screaming orgasms. I’m not normally a screamer, but she had a way of bringing it out of me.

So, against my better judgment, ignoring the creepy aspects of everything that had gone down so far, I gave her what she wanted. “My name is Hope.”

I have never told anyone in America my real name. Esperanza Salvación just sounds so south-of-the-border. ‘Hope’ has a nice ring to it, one syllable. I delude myself into believing that if I can drop my Colombian accent, employ flawless English and use the name Hope, I can somehow rise above my humble beginnings.

Lia started in on me with that eerie command voice. “Hope, you will not remember our meeting or this conversation. You’re feeling tired. You feel like sleeping. You need to rest.”

This shit was getting old fast. “I get it. You don’t need to repeat yourself. I’m not stupid. I’ve been doing this a long time. I know the score. I’ll never tell anyone you were here. We’ve never met before, yada, yada, yada. I know the routine.”

Lia didn’t care for my attitude. She came at me again with that same monotone crap. “You will not remember our meeting. We have never met before. You will not remember that I bit you and tasted your blood.”

“Whatever. It was gross. But don’t worry about it. I’m not gonna say anything to anybody. It didn’t happen. This is our little secret. I respect your privacy. Actually … I was hoping you might want to see me again …”

I’d given this speech to dozens of cops, business men, politicians, even a priest. Everyone who’s someone of importance out in the community needs reassurance their freaky romp with an escort will remain confidential. I’m not into blackmail or extortion or anything stupid like that. It’s nasty business that never ends well. I have seen it done by the cartel to others less fortunate. Plus, being illegal, it wouldn’t be hard to get me deported.

She did not look pleased. I tried to put her at ease. “You already gave me a two hundred dollar tip, so I’m cool. And I really would like to see you again …”

She started looking at me funny, her head turned sideways, like I was the freak. I dug into her mind to see what the hell. She’d become extremely irritated over something.

“You’re a special kind of girl, aren’t you?”

She was trying to defocus her vision to see something else, off to the side of my head. Some kind of hazy color spectrum.

“Yes you are …” Her voice trailed off. She flipped like that into a raging-bull hatred. She pegged me with this totally wicked I-want-to-kill-you-and-dance-on-your-corpse look. “You Bitch! You’re digging around in my head, you bitch!”

I caught it a split second before she hit me, and I reacted. I flinched away, stepped back out of her reach, except she hadn’t moved.

“Gotcha, didn’t I? I knew it.” Her lip curled into a snarl.

“What? What’s your problem?”

Then I finally understood. She had been trying to hypnotize me into ignorance. When she realized it wasn’t working, she began to suspect I had some kind of psychic sensitivity, a telepath, or clairvoyant. I had just proven her right by reacting to her thoughts rather than her actions.

Staring at me with her head cocked sideways, she recognized something about this weird color she thought she could see, something yellow-gold in my aura. That decided it for her.

“You already know way too much about me don’t you.” She had this half-smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. But I think it’s time you should go.”

I presented a dilemma. If I couldn’t be hypnotized into forgetting, and I had read her mind, what to do with me? The thought came to her instantly. A toothy grin slid across her face. She would probably have to kill me to contain the situation.
