We are excited to have Jayne Kingston stop by today and share some thoughts on having your friends set you up.  Make sure to comment and let her know what you think. . . 

Do even our closest friends really know us well enough to choose our significant others?

That question came up again and again while I was writing Key Party, the first book in my Mischievous Matchmaker series. The premise for the series is this: one of a tight-knit group of three best friends fancies herself a pretty good matchmaker. She’s had a long streak of successful matches with some of her more casual acquaintances, which leads her to trying her hand at setting up her best friends.

And that’s where the fun begins, of course.

Throughout the process of writing this story, my mind went back to the handful of times when friends of mine tried to set me up with one guy or another. Invariably (in my case anyway) it turned out to be someone the friend of mine liked, or thought was hot at any rate, but couldn’t pursue themselves. They never worked out, and always for the same reason: most of my friends and I have completely opposite tastes in men, which meant the man in question was not—and was never going to be—my type.

I don’t let my friends so much as think about setting me up any longer. In fiction we can twist the scenario to work out however we want, but reality is an entirely different story, isn’t it?

So tell me single ladies (and gents if you’re reading this), would you trust your friends set you up with someone? Are you the matchmaker in your group? Do you have a successful blind date story you would like to share, because I would really love to hear it.

Always & Forever by Shae Shannon is one hot page turner.  The details and storyline are amazing.  She is truly a gifted writer that I hope to read more of in the future!

Picture two Alpha Males ~ one wolf, one panther ~ and one witch who is happy just living her life.  Now you have the making of the perfect storm . . . The three characters are combustible yet all have enough character development that you get to root for your man of choice, or maybe both, and really get to understand and appreciate Giselle's dilemma.

“Where’s your roommate?” Rachel asked, her fingers working the buttons on Ben’s shirt before he had the door closed behind them. 

They’d gone out to one of the corner bars in her neighborhood, but he hadn’t really had the stomach or the patience for the beer he’d ordered. She’d barely made it through her own drink when she suggested they go somewhere else. 

“Gone ’til morning,” he answered, letting go of her long enough to shrug out of his shirt. He reached for the button on her jeans and popped it open while she pulled her top off over her head. “Gotta love the roommate being on night shift.” And then she was clinging to him again, her fingers dug into his hair, the silky skin of her curvy body against his. David shifted to place Cassy behind him. The prince gave a smirk at the obvious movement. Lady Helena laid her hand on David’s shoulder as if to restrain him. He relaxed but still blocked Cassy from the prince’s immediate grasp.

The witch nodded and pulled a treat from her pocket. “Thank you, Obsidian. That was most informative.” She gave the crow its reward and held her arm up higher. It flapped several times before launching itself into the air. It took laps around the tall ceiling and headed back out the window.

“It seems, Prince Vlad, we have a common problem. One of our Mothers has been reported missing in New Atlanta, but we have a magical trace,” Lady Ursula said.

“And vould you be so kind as to tell me vhere the trace led?” Vlad requested.

“To Avalon,” she replied.

Her hobby of writing short stories bloomed out of this tradition.
