Sasha's nickname for Brooks is Sandy, a play on his middle name, Sanderson. Brooks likes that she's the only who calls him that, but he teases her for naming him after the dog in Annie and that it's a dealbreaker if she starts singing this song.

6. Amazed by Lonestar

Sasha looks at the relationship that starting pitcher, Mike Landry has with his wife, Julie and she hopes that one day she can have the same thing with Brooks. ***This is also Mike and Julie's wedding song.

7. Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy by Big and Rich

Brooks dedicates his performance in the postseason to Kyle including this as his walk-up song whenever he comes to the plate. It reminds him of how he was there when Kyle met his wife, Casey, after falling at her feet when he was thrown from a mechanical bull.

Collette West grew up as somewhat of a jock-nerd hybrid. Present Day

A single tear rolled down Artemis’s cheek as she gazed into the looking pool outside her home in Olympus. The crystal clear water allowed her to watch over her daughter while she visited the human world. Artemis had never used it to seek him out. Then again, until recently, she believed Evangelos—her one true love and Ashlynn’s father—to be dead and beyond even her powers of sight.

Her chest tightened as she recalled the day her father told her Evan had died. Meant to be the happiest day of her life, the day became the worst in only a matter of moments.

The moment she woke, she knew something to be amiss. Springing from her bed, she’d conjured her chiton to hide her nudity before she set out in search of Evangelos. When she reached his home, he was not there. An odd sadness filled her, and she decided to go see her father. The closer to Zeus’s palace she got, the stronger the sick feeling of dread grew. She entered the large mansion and sought out her father. “Zeus.”

“What is it?” The god king boomed from the top of the stairs.

“Have you seen Evangelos?”

Her father studied her as he descended the stairs, his face devoid of emotion. Her stomach knotted and a lump formed in her throat. “I’m afraid Evangelos is no longer with us.”

“No. No. How?” She shook her head and stumbled backwards. Her father stared, his brows dipping and his eyes dulled with pity. Tears streamed down her cheeks and she turned and ran to her own palace where she dropped to her knees beside the looking pool, her palm flattened over her belly. As if her hand could protect the child who would never meet his or her father.

More tears rolled down her cheeks as the memory faded. She hated the weakness she allowed herself to fall into. With a wave of one hand over the water, Evan appeared at his place of employment. Ashlynn mentioned he labored as a mechanic, fixing human vehicles. Seeing him alive made her heart ache all the more. How did she not know of the deception sooner? Footsteps from across the garden drew her attention. Zeus stopped a few feet from the pond, long silver hair cascading over his shoulders. She stood and turned her back to him, but stilled as he spoke. “Please stay.”

Without facing him, she answered quietly, “I have nothing to say to you.”

“Artemis, you can’t hold a grudge forever.”

“I have managed to do so for over fifteen hundred years.”

He sighed. “I’ve come to ask a favor of you.”

She laughed, although she felt no humor. “Why would I do anything for you?”

Lust is a quick and satisfying read - if all of the stories are as well done, this box set is a no-brainer to pick up today. (I've already purchased, just haven't read the rest of them yet!) Melissa Andrea sets us up with two characters, Meela and Landon, who have chemistry that should have melted my iPad.  Their relationship is volatile and passionate.  This is a perfect story of Lust within this set!
