Review & Giveaway ~*~ Handcuffed by Her Hero by Angel Payne

Ok, I have to admit that I read this about a month ago before the RNC
and other things going on in life. . .
Now, I read and review so many books, that authors names usually elude me!
(just like musicians ~ drives my husband crazy)

So, as I am wandering around RNC, I meet this funny, crazy woman
who always has a smile and makes me laugh!
Then I see her at the book signing and am looking at her table and am shocked that i HAVE read one of her books. . . Actually just finished it!

Now, Angel probably thinks I am a total ditz for not realizing who she is . . . AND we are in a couple FB groups together but I still had no clue who she was or that I'd read one of her books!

But I will make it up to her next year at another convention or two I'm sure ~
or maybe she'll visit Vegas again  ~
Now that I've met Angel, she can't be wiped from my memory!! *LOL*

I do have some awesome swag and a signed t-shirt from her to give away in the near future. . .

Blurb:
Between a rock and a hard place.

To Sergeant Zeke Hayes, the expression has always been a non-factor. There's never been a situation he can't blast, punch, or smart-ass his way out of, which makes him the perfect fit for his Special Forces battalion--and a natural-born Dominant who's made a lot of submissives happy from Mt. Rainier to Vancouver.

That all changes when Rayna Chestain enters his world.

A rock.

From the moment Z snatches Rayna from the lair of a South Asian slave trafficker, his inner grizzly roars to life. This is a huge damn problem, because Z isn't wired to be a one-woman man. Growing up an orphan on the streets of Seattle has taught him that beyond a few hours in a dungeon, trust means disappointment and love leads to agony. But here he is, in the remote wilderness escape he'd promised not to share with anyone, harboring Rayna from a fiend who now wants his pound of revenge flesh from her.

A hard place.

Sheltering Rayna? Z's never done anything more right in his life. But wanting her? Dreaming of her beneath him, surrendering to his passion and domination? It's the most forbidden fruit he can crave...and the only thing he can't stop thinking about.

A new beginning?

This is a dead-end canyon that no rifle, bomb or sweet talk will let Zeke escape from. The only way out is to confront the reality of what Rayna has done to him...the mountain she's moved in his intractable heart.

5 Star Review ~*~
There is so much, yet so little to say about Handcuffed by Her Hero.  Go buy it, is the easiest . . . Don't pass go ~ just get it!

This is the second book in her W.I.L.D. series, but don't worry if you don't read them in order.  Handcuffed by Her Hero is perfectly enjoyable on its own.  Trust me, I am sad to say this is the first book by Angel I have read, but it will be no means be the last!  She has a writing style that creates characters who jump off the pages and grab hold of you.  This story made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes.

Zeke and Rayna have a relationship that started under unique circumstances, but the feelings are there even as Z tries to deny them and Rayna pushes and pulls him as she's faced with demons that he is all too familiar with.  But it seems Z is the only person that can keep them at bay.

Handcuffed by Her Hero has a man who is protective and alpha and so freakin' awesome i want one for myself ;-)  mixed with a heroine who is stronger than most people realizes, especially after she's been through hell more than once.  But together these two can conquer anything.  If you like an emotional story that is so hot it smokes, pick up Handcuffed by Her Hero and get ready for an enjoyable afternoon.

About Angel ~*~

Well, hello there! My name is Angel, and I’m so happy to meet you.

Like many, I’ve had a journey to get here.

I’ve loved reading all my life, and have been writing nearly that long, too. I think it started when I penned an 80-page novel about a time-traveling family for a 5th-grade school project. You could say I was hooked. In middle school, I moved to the hardcore stuff: the paragraph-at-a-time “swap-stories” with all my besties. (C’mon…don’t lie…you remember those too!) Needless to say, the stories featured lots of French kissing, mindless groping and angsty drama – but I knew I’d found a niche when I was invited to participate in several more swap-stories on campus.

Some years, various entertainment writing gigs and a half-dozen historical romances later, I discovered the world of erotica – and home. (Not to mention a great place for all that angst I never gave up.) I love this genre – change that to love this genre – and hope my stories speak to your heart as well as your blood pressure, as well as your courage to explore new things and express your truth in beautiful new ways.

And where do I do all this? Well, if you ask my hubz, he’d likely say “on another planet,” especially if I’m in story-brewing mode! The rest of the time, I live in Southern California with him and our gorgeous child, where I’m abnormally interested in travel, coffee, wine, shoes, super heroes, fetish wear, ridiculous pop culture trends – but most of all, hearing from fellow readers and erotica lovers like you!

Remember: play safe, love completely and never, ever be ashamed to live your truth.

    1. That conference was a blast! Thanks for stopping by the table, Star! I SO remember you, too. That was a cute moment. Almost as cute as when the Casanova models were boot-boogying shirtless for us that night. Tee hee.

  5. Looking forward to reading this, and it's helpful to know they work out of order. Though this sounds like my sort of book, so I'm sure I'll go back and read the prior book.
