Review & Giveaway ~*~ Dangerous Submission by Lori Toland

We are really excited to welcome Lori Toland to the blog today!

Everyone say "Hi Lori!"

We asked Lori what her inspiration was behind Dangerous Submission and the Characters.
Let's see what she had to tell us...

It’s all about Prague. I wanted to set a story in the gorgeous city of Prague after seeing so many backdrops in movies and magazines. While I was starting to write Dangerous Submission, I received two travel magazines. One was all about the best of European cities and the second had an article about old English estates that you can tour.

The article inspired endless searches of Prague, from Google Maps to other articles. European cities often have tiny roads amongst old buildings with gorgeous architecture and the Czech city was no different. After endless tours, I had to make myself get back to writing and stop playing Internet tourist.

Suddenly, backdrops sprang into place just as I was just getting to know my characters. The parties they are attending are for the wealthy so in order to keep up appearances of course they would stay in a well-appointed room. Also, they needed to act like a couple but the line in the sand between acting the part and really being a couple suddenly becomes blurred as their passions explode. Drake’s job is to protect Robbie on this mission but can he save his heart from being broken in the end?

Thanks for having me by!

Thanks for joining us Lori!  We loved the setting and details when we read Dangerous Submission, so it is nice to know where you got all the information... Stop by anytime and give us some more insights!

Blurb ~*~

British Agent Drake Steele never thought when he was hired on at the Serious Organised Crime Agency that his job would involve spanking a co-worker. But when the colleague is Lord Robbie Covington, the sexy red-headed computer hacker for SOCA and MI-6, Drake can't agree fast enough to pop Robbie's cherry and pull him into the sensual world of BDSM.

Now they are caught up in a web of lies as they pose as members of the jet-setting crowd. Drake and Robbie have to race against the clock to stop a weapons haul that could threaten the safety of all Europe. As their covers begin to fade and danger is closing in, protecting Robbie is Drake’s most important task, but neither man is ready for the moment when their hearts are put on the line.

Excerpt ~*~
He rushed to take the position, but I grabbed his arm to stop him. “Unless I’ve ordered your silence, you will respond to my commands and questions with ‘Sir’ or ‘Master Drake’ at the end, so I know you understand me.”

“Yes, Sir.”

The respectful reply came naturally, and it pleased me greatly. “Display.”

He dropped to his knees on the linoleum, adjusting a little into the position I’d described. Once he was settled, I moved his shoulder to straighten his back. “Close your eyes,” I reminded him.

“Yes, Sir.” He swallowed and obeyed.

“This is the position you will wait in if I am readying equipment for a scene, or if I simply ask you to. Submissives will stay like this to find their subspace, which is a state of mind submissives experience, and they await a command from their masters.”

“Yes, Sir.”

“Next position is ‘inspection.’ I use this to inspect you before punishing you or before a scene to check for new marks. You would be naked for this, as I need to check every inch of you. You’ll stand with your hands resting on the back of your neck and your feet shoulder width apart. Make sure to remember to keep your gaze lowered and stay quiet. Even if another dom speaks to you, keep your silence.”

As he stood, he opened his eyes. “Shall I remove my clothes, Sir?” he asked.

5 Star Review ~*~
Dangerous Submission is the second book in Lori Toland's Dangerous Affairs series.  But don't worry, it stands very neatly on its own, but during the beginning of the story, you will wonder about Nathaniel and Anthony as they exchange a few looks.  Their's is the first story in the series, The Long Con (link below).

Drake is experienced with BDSM as a Dominant and doesn't mind if a mission needs him to play the role.  But what he does mind is getting partnered with Robbie who has no experience in the lifestyle and is going to be expected to play the role of submissive in front of a gathering of people who can usually spot a fake a mile away.  Without much time to prepare Robbie, Drake has to figure things out as situations occur and needless to say, Robbie is just a wee bit bratty!

There was a lot to enjoy about Dangerous Submission from the characters to the writing style.  Lori Toland really took the situation to the next level.  I love a good man-in-uniform story and this had two! The scenario of their mission and the details she provides are perfect.  She doesn't go overboard with the nitty-gritty details, but also doesn't leave you hanging because she missed a detail.  Definitely a 5 Star story from my point of view.  I hope you will give Dangerous Submission a chance, everything about this book is first class and while this is the first book from Lori Toland that I have read, it will not be the last!
